DESCRIPTION

     I Must is an award-winning interactive DVD series with Gregg Johnson, the Founder of J12, and “The Dude” (an original cartoon tween). In this series, Gregg and “The Dude” highlight the 7 powerful words Jesus spoke when He was 12 years old.  When Jesus was 12 He said, "I must be about My Father's business" (Luke 2:49 NKJV). Gregg Johnson and the “The Dude” teach the lessons and give you time to discuss topics they suggest along the way. Each week there is a teaching, review, game, and small group discussion time all hosted by characters on the video curriculum.

     This series can be used for 7 weeks or extended to 21 weeks based off optional teachings provided in this curriculum. The optional teachings give you the ability to spread out the content of the series from 7 weeks to 21 weeks depending on need, time requirements, or preference. The length of time your class meets will determine how you want to break it down.  You may use all, some, or none of the optional teachings and you of course can add anything you may come up with yourself. The point of the optional teachings is to provide flexibility to meet your needs and get the creativity flowing. On one of the discs in the 2-DVD set, a password will be assigned to you. You may use it to access teacher resources through our website and videos to help you in your program.

     It is “plug and play” meaning most of the prep has been done for you. Your prep is simply looking over the written lessons and videos each week, encouraging the preteens during the sessions, and interacting as a class with the screen as it will give you time to discuss topics they suggest along the way.

     The testimony of Jesus at 12 is is the template on how to reach a generation before they need to be rescued. Jesus spoke 7 words at the age of twelve and our heart, belief, and passion is for tweens to live those same 7 words today. J12 is much more about creating a culture to thrive and much less about providing programing to continue their boredom. If tweens get the 7 words of Jesus in their spirit, they will not need programming to live like Jesus, but will instead live like Jesus because of their love for the Father and His business. The most important job as a J12 teacher is to nurture a culture in which tweens can get lost in love with their Father and His business.
