"Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. The power of healthy cyclic activity cannot be over-emphasized. His parents did the same thing every year! Passing on a legacy has its foundation in doing the same thing, not once, not twice, but again and again. All of creation is based on cyclic activity, without it, the sun wouldn't show up or set on your horizon everyday. The beauty of healthy tradition is that even though sunrises and sunsets are constant, each one has its own look, based on the season and the weather conditions, not to mention the air pollution. Parents and leaders that provide healthy rhythms in homes and churches help establish the faith of the younger generation. In J12 Local Church, we like to do the same kinds of things over and over again, such as the "Value Tags", which are a vital part of the J12 culture. I'll never forget hearing a nugget of insight for effective ministry when I was younger - it went like this - 'repetition with variety is the key to learning.'"
