"His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover."

Luke 2:41 (NKJV)

The first 2 words of the narrative of Jesus at 12 begin with… “His parents”. Those 2 words are really where it all begins if we want to reach a generation before they need to be rescued. Problem is, parents, or at least some of them, seem to be missing in action. Right out of the shoot, many kids today are behind the eight ball when it comes to a healthy start in life. Parents who desire to raise their kids in the ways of the Lord often put too much pressure on the local church to be the primary spiritual force in their children’s lives. Truth is, the church and all it’s ministries targeted at the younger generation will only serve as a “supplement” not a “substitute” to the home for training tweens in the ways of the Lord. It was Jesus’ parents that brought Him to the Passover celebration, and they didn’t just drop Him off at the temple. This was not a ‘drive-by’ faith for mom and dad, they were committed to their own faith and raising their Son in the same atmosphere.
